How to choose Landscape oil paintings

Landscape oil painting depict various natural themes and sceneries, such as forests, valleys, rivers and lakes, mountains; they have been the master artistic creations all over the world since the 16-17th century, when oil painting reached the peak of spiritual and artistic creation.

Choosing a landscape oil painting can be a quite hard task; however it is a very personal issue, since you can set the tone and the atmosphere in your room or space just by adding a painting like this: the placidity or dramatic change of the sea can give a very powerful and yet imaginary accent to a lounge, while a peaceful depiction of a valley or a clear blue sky can create a very calming ambient and have a soothing effect on you and your family.

Especially when it comes to oil paintings, their vivacity and warmth are truly incomparable.

There is an endless variety of oil paintings that you can choose from, made by famous – or not – artists, who impressed their highly accurate or fantastic perception and observation of nature on canvas. You can go through priceless pieces of art online and choose the one that you want to decorate and embellish your home or working place.

At the sound of the phrase landscape painting many notorious names come to our minds: from the paintings of Raphael and Rembrandt to the beautiful Monet's landscapes, there is an extremely wide range of art pieces of exquisite beauty that you can find and fall in love with.

Since most of these pieces are not affordable, their reproduction is a very effective way to make those unique art pieces far more popular and accessible: although the original character cannot be conveyed in a complete and thorough way, nowadays the quality of oil paintings' reproduction is impressive, to the extent that you cannot distinguish the original work from the reproduced.

Rear-view Mirror GPS

We’ve been hearing about various concepts for integrating GPS and a rear view mirror for close to four years now, however the new Mirror from Directusnav actually exists. It is an interesting concept as it addresses many of the aesthetic issues a traditional PND is plagued with… suction cup mounts, dangling cords, etc. My first reaction was concern that it might be difficult to reach, although as I sat in my car I realized that the mirror is actually a closer reach than the bottom center of the windshield where PNDs are typically installed.

I got my Reverse sensor installed for my NHC. Cost me Rs.2200 for 4 sensors with one year warranty. I dont know the brand. This was drilled into the rear bumper. The display is a rear view mirror,. When you engage the reverse gear, there is a colorful display in the IRVM which gives approx distance and also has an audible beep sound. As the distance reduces, the beeping sound increases too. I dont even need to look at the mirror while reversing. Just following the sound is enough.
Have managed to save my reverse lights on a couple of occasions, when the sensor showed how close I was to the car parked behind.

I'm also have a reverse camera with sensors installed on my Scorpio. I'm able to do a very close and tight parking when required.

As you come closer you can't see the rear bumper edges since the camera, though having a wide angle lens is normally fitted in the center. Secondly. if you observe, that all cars' front have a curved design with the bulge in the center tapering off to the sides. So, the camera enables you to see the front bulging part thus making a tight parking easier.

When you have kids running and cycling about the neighborhood, remember to take extra precaution when backing up your car onto the street. After all, tiny tots and toddlers aren't exactly the tallest creatures in the world, and they certainly won't be seen in your rear view camera while you're reversing. The Rear View Backup Camera aims to remedy that, using AirCam technology and digital processing to deliver accurate and natural looking images of what's directly behind, doing away with the need for fish-eye mirrors fixed at the rear of your vehicle. Too bad this $299.99 camera system doesn't come with an onboard display, so you'll have to fork out extra for one.

comments over disputed islands

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao threatened action against Japan if it does not immediately release a detained ship captain, in his first comments in a growing fight over disputed islands.

Wen's remarks Tuesday night in New York were the first by a top Chinese leader on the issue that has led Beijing to suspend ministerial-level contacts with Tokyo. China also has said Wen will not meet with Japanese Prime Minister Naoto Kan during U.N. meetings in New York this week.

Wen laid the blame for the dispute entirely at Japan's door.

China-Japan relations are at their worst in several years after Japan arrested the Chinese captain of a fishing boat that collided two weeks ago with Japanese coast guard vessels near islands in the East China Sea claimed by both nations. Japan extended his detention Sunday, and China responded by suspending contacts.

The dispute over the islands, known as Senkaku by Japan and Diaoyu or Diaoyutai in Chinese, comes as an increasingly confident China — its economy booming and military expanding — asserts its presence in the region.

A Japanese government spokesman made a conciliatory gesture Wednesday morning, but it was not clear if he was aware of Wen's comments at the time.

"If possible, it would be good to quickly hold high-level talks, including broad, strategic discussions," Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshito Sengoku told reporters, saying that the countries should continue to strengthen their ties despite the dispute.

The telephone at China's Foreign Ministry rang unanswered Wednesday, a national holiday in China.

On Tuesday, ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu explained that Wen would not be meeting Japan's Kan in New York because "The atmosphere is obviously not suitable for such a meeting."

Anti-Japanese protests have already flared in numerous locations around China, and the dispute has spilled into cultural ties. Beijing abruptly canceled invitations to 1,000 Japanese youth to visit the Shanghai expo, and the Japanese pop group SMAP has called off a concert in Shanghai.

Also, activists from Hong Kong, mainland China and Taiwan have tried to sail private boats to the islands in support of the territorial claims, though most of those plans have been thwarted by official pressure.

Seven activists from the southern Chinese territory of Hong Kong set sail for the islands Wednesday in a fishing boat but were later intercepted by two marine police vessels. Officers boarded the fishing boat but didn't immediately make any arrests, activist David Ko said.

Calls to Hong Kong's Marine Department seeking comment late Wednesday went unanswered. The department had earlier warned it might stop the boat on the ground that it was making a non-fishing trip.

The growing dispute faces a test on Sept. 29, the deadline by which Japanese prosecutors must decide whether to charge the Chinese captain. Fourteen crew members and the boat have been returned.

what do you think of National Day Oct 1, 2010

The National Day's coming,The official holiday is only three days (October 1-3), but the Chinese work through the preceding weekend in exchange for two more weekdays as holiday and the following weekend, so they get Monday to Sunday off. Usually the exact arrangements are not announced until shortly before the holiday, but you're in luck because this time they were announced in 2009 (a first). The holiday is Friday October 1 to Thursday October 7. In exchange the Chinese will have to work the preceding Sunday (Sept 26th) and the following Saturday (the 9th) are also work days. The arrangements for Hong Kong are completely different, where October 1st will be a holiday and that's that.

Although demand for travel increases in the lead-up to the holiday and lasts for a few days afterwards, as those with any discretionary travel with Car DVD player time bolt it on to the official holiday, in general your problem is only the beginning of the holiday and the end of it, when demand for public transport is very high. Even in the middle of the holiday period you may obtain heavily discounted tickets. This is a holiday for leisure travel, not one for visiting family, so the demand isn't anything like as high as at Spring Festival, and the main demand is on routes to tourist destinations. The people with money to spend on leisure travel with Car DVD mostly reside in the big cities, and the result is that these are generally quieter and easier to get around than they would normally be. In addition to the reduced traffic caused by the exodus all official government work unit vehicles are usually ordered off the roads for the holiday, too. All public attractions and restaurants remain open, however, and it's only banks and offices that are closed. Travel agencies may take the three official days but no more. Hotel rooms, at least at the middle to upper end, are usually plentiful and rates reasonable.

So generally within mainland China plan to be somewhere before the rush starts, and move on to your next destination in the middle, and your next one after the end of the holiday. The rush may tail off a bit more slowly this year since probably many will find a way to fudge having the Friday and Saturday off and only come home on the Sunday.

In short, it's not the ideal time to go travel, but it can be managed, and being in big cities during this period can even have its advantages. The October holiday marks the end of the autumn leisure travel season, though, so if you travel after it, with the exception of those hotels connected with the conference business and which will be very busy (late Oct is peak conference and exhibition season) prices and demand generally drop.
